Solar Storm To Render Earth Powerless!

The end of the world is drawing near, so say numerous prophets of doom who are frantically searching for evidence among the old and archaic documents of the Maya civilization and the sayings of Nostradamus, the astrologer who has begun to be rediscovered with a vengeance all of a sudden. Selected portions of the Bible as well as the other Holy Books all across the world are suddenly taking on a new meaning with the world hoping to escape the terrible apocalypse that is bound to occur sooner or later.

The Armageddon offers little hope and leaves most of us quaking in our boots as we try to come to terms with the terrible prophecy that goes, “It’s coming and it’s coming right for us. Not even a soul on earth can hide from it!”

However, the scientists at NASA are not too amused. They hint at a terrible disaster that will hit us in the form of a solar storm in the year labeled to be the very last year of the world. All the corny dialogues and movie predictions might as well come true when a solar flare leaves us incapacitated as it collides with our humble abode, the earth, with the force of 100 atomic bombs.

The US media went on an overdrive as usual when NASA reported a massive solar flare up in the month of September this year, hinting at the earth experiencing a disaster hereto unparalleled. The scientists of NASA remain concerned with the nitty-gritty in the meantime and have no time to lend ear to fanciful imaginations of the more romantically inclined members of the mankind.

The impending Solar maximum, being watched avidly by the scientific community, has the capability of wiping out the entire power grid system of our home planet. Powerless on Earth! Sounds like a corny title from Hollywood. But it might just render us completely helpless, much more helpless now than we ever were back in 1859 and 1921 when it was the telegraph wires that had to bear the brunt of the sun’s temperament.

With every form of communication being practically wiped out from the face of the earth, courtesy Sol, our mighty star, we would just have to cope with the eventualities as best as we can. Receding back into the past might be the best recourse available for the time being. But will it be such a bad thing? After all, we can always utilize the sturdier stone tablets to write on instead of the overtly sensitive computer tablet!
